Unpacking Your Security Doors and Screens

11 Jun 2017

When you receive your Seconline doors, security grilles, or fly screens you will find then firmly enclosed with two piece of cardboard front and back, additional strips of cardboard to protect the frame, a channel at each end the stabilise the door / screen and fragile tape around all edges and displayed across the body of the carton. All sides are also stapled.

So, you may be wondering, "How do I get it out!"

This packaging has been developed and improved gradually to ensure that your door or screen arrives safely to your home or business in the same condition in which it has left our workshop.

Your Seconline Security Door or Window Screen will arrive with a black stripping on the frame. Don't Panic!

This is not a fault, or a dodgy powder coating job, it is protection tape; we wrap all our frames to protect them during manufacture and transit, it is easily removed.

The easiest way to remove from this packaging is as follows or view the video below and see how Keith get's the job done;

  • Using a very sharp Stanley or similar type knife cut between the staples and the inner edge of the fragile tape.
  • Use the fragile tape as a guide.
  • Start at one end of the box and cut along three sides only (the top, bottom and one side only).
  • When this is completed simply flip the top layer of cardboard up and over, revealing your new Seconline Door or Screen.
  • Remove your accessories locks, closers, bug seals etc.
  • At the top and bottom there will a cardboard channel used to stabilise your product inside  the packaging; simply cut both sides top and bottom and this will allow you to lift your product out safely.
