 MESH MAINTENANCE

Central with the Seconline TOUGH Security System is woven high tensile 316 stainless steel mesh and architectural aluminium framing. The woven design of the mesh in particular can attract impurities, salt and other contaminates particularly in corrosive or heavy industrial areas.

The Seconline TOUGH Security System will require regular maintenance to enhance its pristine appearance and prolong product life. Dependent upon the proximity from coastal beachfront, tidal waters or heavy industrial areas will determine the cleaning frequency.

SupaWash is a biodegradable, environmentally friendly, tried and proven washing formula. Mix three caps of SupaWash with every litre of water. Recommended use of a soft bristled brush or nonabrasive cloth, apply PowaWash, followed by a clean water rinse.

Failure to comply with this cleaning schedule will void the 5 Year Warranty on the 316 stainless steel mesh in the product.

***IMPORTANT - MEASURE YOUR RECESS BEFORE YOU ORDER!***

11 mm frames only fit recesses wider than 11 mm, Seconline will not replace screens ordered with the incorrect frame as they must be completely remade with all new stock.

Recess fix: Our standard window grille frame is 11 mm thick at the outer wall. This is so they may be fitted into the same recess on a window as a screen. They can then be fixed in place by riveting or screwing to the window recess either internally or externally. As there are a large variety of window extrusions a decision has to be made by the person installing the screen.

Face fix: When there is no recessed area provided for a screen the grille is simply fitted to the face of the window frame either internally or externally by drilling through the frame of the window surround, and screwing or riveting in place. Great care must be given to not interfere with the operation of the window's action, E.g. Window spirals etc.

Method

1. How to measure an existing screen:

If you have existing screens and they are a good fit, then the easiest way to measure for new ones is to remeasure your old ones, ensure that you measure the recess width and advise us if it varies from the industry standard width of 11 mm.

Note: Do not take measurements from the centre in case the screen is bowed.

Screen Width: Measure from the outer edge of the frame top and bottom, record the smallest measurement. Note: There should be maximum of 3 mm variation in the two lengths, if the variation is greater contact us to discuss solutions 1300 735 405.

Screen Height: Measure the height left and right, record the smallest measurement.

Recess Width: Using a solid ruler measure the width of your recess, advise us when placing your order if your recess width is other than 11 mm.

2. How to measure for a new screen (face fixed):

Note: The safest method of measuring is to fit the screen to the face of the window and this is sometimes the only option. You would then drill through the frame of the window surround, and screw or rivet in place.

Screen Height: Measure the height left and right, record the smallest measurement.

3. How to measure for a new screen (recess fixed) 1.1

Screen Width: Measure inside recess of windows where screen will be located, top and bottom then deduct 2-3 mm to allow fitting clearance and record the smallest measurement.

Rivets should be placed 50mm away from each corner and space at least 30mm apart.

Q. Where do I measure for my window grilles?

A. Before you measure you need to establish where exactly how you are going to fix the grille to the window. There are two basic types of external fixing.

Recess fix: Our standard window grille frame is 11 mm thick at the outer wall. This is so they may be fitted into the same recess on a window as a fly screen. They can then be fixed in place by riveting or screwing to the window recess either internally or externally. As there are a large variety of window extrusions a decision has to be made by the person installing the screen.

Face fix: When there is no recessed area provided for a fly screen the grille is simply fitted to the face of the window frame either internally or externally by drilling through the frame of the window surround, and screwing or riveting in place. Great care must be given to not interfere with the operation of the window's action, E.g. Window spirals etc.

Measuring for a recess fix is difficult due to the many variations in styles. The simplest method is to remeasure the existing fly screen if it is a good fit, and a fix can be obtained. If this option is not available then you must be mindful of being able to fit the screen into the recess whilst still covering the window. Remember: Fly screens are flexible, security window screens are not.

Q. What colours do you have as standard?
